Bendigo has many local attractions and entertainment venues within walking distance from Bendigo Cottages. The Ulumbarra, Capital and Historic Fire Station Theatres are a 10 minute walk away. The city’s prime sporting venues - the Queen Elizabeth Oval, Faith Leech swimming pool and Tom Flood Centre are also a 10 minute walk while the Tennis Centre and Bendigo Stadium are a five minute drive.

The city of Bendigo has so much to offer! Join a walking or talking tram tour to explore the city’s unique historic buildings. Visit the historic Central Deborah mine, Chinese and Tramways Museums and Joss House which bring to life the rich and diverse history of Bendigo. Rosalind Park, Lake Weeroona and the Botanic Gardens offer shaded walking paths set amongst beautiful gardens while more challenging walks such as the O’Keefe trail showcase Bendigo’s unique bushland and whipstick forests.

Bendigo is home to a number of high quality galleries and art studios. The famous Bendigo Art Gallery is one of Australia’s oldest and largest galleries with an extensive collection of Australian art from the 1850s to the present, First Nations and contemporary works. The famous Bendigo Pottery houses a number of local artists and artisans. Visit the Great Stupa of Universal Compassion - an extraordinary Buddhist monument set in bushland just a 20 min drive from the Cottages.

Bendigo also features a number of markets including: Prince of Wales Showgrounds Market every Sunday morning, Moonlight Market monthly during the warmer months and Community Farmers Market every second Saturday of the month, at Dai Gum San, Chinese Precinct.
